Field Trip #1: Spring Wildflowers Walk on the Jackson River Scenic Trail
Saturday, April 17, 2021, 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Led by Michael Hayslett, CRPA Board Member, and CRPA Members Roger and Cynthia Baroody

Details:

Join us for an outdoor mixer with members of the Jackson River Preservation Association. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the banks of our sister James River tributary while we look for native wildflowers beside the developed trail.

($5 per person; limit of 20 people)

Field Trip #2: Ecology and Geology of Browns Pond — Sinkhole Ponds of the Upper Cowpasture River Valley
Sunday, April 18, 2021, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

Led by Michael Hayslett, Principal of VA Vernal Pools, LLC and Grant Colip, Research Geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey

Details:

Join us for a short hike and lively investigation of ancient Browns Pond on the George Washington National Forest. Meeting location at the Williamsville Community Center at 16084 Indian Draft Rd. on SR 678, just north of the Coursey Springs Fish Hatchery. Be sure to pack a lunch to bring with you.
