About the Author:

Sally Booth, a Richmond, VA artist, has been painting consistently for the last 30 years.  Sally has a BFA degree in Art Education, which has led her to explore many avenues of learning techniques while continuing the study of painting landscapes and still life through workshops and online classes.  She is a member and past president of the James River Art League.  Sally has participated in several CRPA art retreats at Fort Lewis Lodge.  She has a love for Bath County, especially Warm Springs, where she has spent many years enjoying the beauty of the mountains and its surroundings.

Her feelings about painting and being an artist can be summed up nicely with this quote from Edgar Payne, “The study of art is a lifetime matter.  The best any artist can do is accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and its principles, study nature often and then practice continually.”
