About the Artist:

As a child, I was first introduced to the joy of making art and have made a lifelong journey searching for new ways to see and express this joy. A teaching degree enabled me to give others the tools and freedom to express their own art making. Being a member of local galleries for many years in the Shenandoah Valley has allowed me to share my art with others.

I gain inspiration to paint from landscape, cityscape, still life and animals. Oils, acrylics, water media, pastels and mixed media are some of my tools for the making. Painting on location or taking photos to print later in my studio are equally gratifying to me. My style is influenced by frequent museum trips, attending classes, travel and experimenting with new techniques.

The joy of making art and expressing new ways of visual notation continually inspires me. Not every painting turns out the way it was intended . . . but sometimes that’s part of the mystery and excitement of discovery. There is always something new to be learned!
