About the Artist:
A native Virginian from Richmond, I would as a child sit by my Mother’s side watching her paint in watercolor, never thinking one day I would be so consumed and enthralled with painting -its process and techniques. After 44 plus years of painting (in all mediums), my style can be defined as one that is ever-changing. I have embraced painting in oils and currently gouache. The more I study and practice the principles and elements of art in my studio, classes and workshops, the more my painting style evolves. I am constantly studying and testing my limits. The creative process fills me with joy! Painting can be fun; painting is hard work and takes a long time to master. I feel fortunate to be on this journey. Some say one must fail in order to succeed. I plan to stay the course and continue painting until I drop! As my former teacher Mary Gilkerson said, “Paint the Days You Eat!” I am extremely grateful to all the talented Artists who have shared their techniques.
“The study of art is a lifetime matter. The best any artist can do is accumulate all the knowledge possible of art and it’s principles, study nature often and then practice continually.” Edgar Payne
