About the Artist:
V-Anne Evans is a Plein Air Landscape Painter from Central Virginia. Growing up along the Potomac River, V-Anne spent most of her childhood outside, along the river banks, woods and fields, instilling an early love for nature and the rural Virginia countryside. Her interest in painting and drawing began in childhood and has been lifelong.
V-Anne’s first professional artistic experiences began as an illustrator and sign painter, and with hand illustrated and lettered newspaper advertisements appearing weekly in the Washington Post. While continuing to take art courses through college, V-Anne received a Masters in Education, with a later endorsement in Art Education. After her teaching career, V-Anne began studying painting with Ron Boehmer at the Beverley Street Studio School in Staunton, VA. Other teachers include Lauren Andreach, Rick Weaver, Frank Hobbs, Katheryn Statts and Nancy Bass.
V-Anne has participated in several invitational Plein Air events in the past two years including the Rockfish Valley Foundation Plein Air Paint Out and the Cowpasture River Preservation Association Plein Air Event. She is currently a member of the Firnew Farm Artists’ Circle in Madison, VA. Upcoming shows are listed on her website, and works also can be purchased by at her home studio in Keswick, Va.
